Winona's Large-scale Public Welfare Activity—Winona Bright Smiles Commonweal Project Sets Sail Again

From August 6 to 7, 2018, Winona, a Chinese cosmeceutical brand, launched a sun protection-themed public welfare activity—the Winona Bright Smiles Commonweal Project in collaboration with dermatologists from the Second People's Hospital of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province. They provided free skin consultations for local citizens, visited local ethnic minority families to popularize knowledge about scientific skincare and proper sun protection, and distributed limited edition sunscreen gift bags.
Dali is located on a plateau with strong UV radiation, which can easily lead to skin problems. The Winona Bright Smiles Commonweal Project aims to raise awareness of sun protection among Yunnan people and foster habits of scientific skincare and proper sun protection.

Second People's Hospital of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture

During the activity, Winona invited experts from the Dermatology Department of the Second People's Hospital of Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, including Director Zhang Jianbo and Ms. Li Xin, to provide free skin consultations for residents, thus helping the residents better understand their skin conditions and maintain skin health.

In a subsequent interview, Director Zhang Jianbo mentioned that in his daily consultations, a majority of skin issues originate from a lack of sun protection awareness. In addition, UV rays, fluorescent lights, and other light sources can impact skin health, making preventive measures particularly crucial. He suggested not only taking physical measures (such as wearing hats and masks and using umbrellas) but also using sunscreens daily for dual protection, preventing UV rays from damaging the skin.

There are more and more people suffering from sensitive skin. Director Zhang stated that improper use of cosmetics and a lack of sun protection awareness are the main causes of sensitive skin. He suggested using skincare products that do not contain fragrances, alcohol, dyes, or sensitizing preservatives. In addition, he advised those with sensitive skin to follow the principle of "minimalism" when it comes to skincare, which requires them to reduce skincare steps and prioritize cleansing. While effective cleansing should be practiced, excessive cleansing should be avoided as it can thin the stratum corneum.

Winona Sunblock Milk

In this year's Winona Bright Smiles Commonweal Project, in addition to providing free skin consultations and distributing sunscreen gift bags in Dali City, Winona's staff and the expert group also visited local ethnic minority families to popularize the importance of sun protection, provide free skin consultations for local villagers, and distribute limited edition sunscreen gift bags.

Introducing Skincare Steps

For this year's activity, Winona customized 2,000 sunscreen gift bags worth nearly RMB 1 million for citizens of Dali. Each gift bag contained a bottle of Winona Sunblock Milk SPF48 PA+++ that can resist UV radiation, a Winona Sensitive Skin Repair Set (Sensitiveness Relieving Moisturizing Tolerance-Extreme Cream and Anti-Sensitive Essence) that can repair the skin barrier, a sunshade straw hat suitable for all ages, and a limited edition canvas bag for the 2018 Winona Bright Smiles Commonweal Project. These products can help the residents of Dali defend against the harmful effects of UV rays on their skin, provide multiple layers of protection for the skin, foster skincare habits, and raise awareness of sun protection among the citizens.

In the future, Winona will continue to fulfill its corporate social responsibility, focus on skincare and public welfare undertakings, and extend the reach of the Winona Bright Smiles Commonweal Project to a broader audience, helping more individuals plagued by skin problems to regain beauty and confidence.
