Botanee Forges Ahead with New Initiatives to Safeguard Teenagers' Hopes in the Third Year of Botanee Foundation

On June 27, the inauguration and completion ceremonies of Botanee Project Hope Primary School, Botanee Biodiversity Exhibition Hall, and Botanee Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance Project in Lashi Town, Yulong County of Lijiang City, donated by the Botanee Foundation under the Yunnan Youth Development Foundation, took place in Lijiang. Before the renovation, the playground of Botanee Project Hope Primary School in Lashi Town, Yulong County was cramped and outdated. Thus, the school applied to the Yunnan Youth Development Foundation to assist in upgrading its facilities to the Hope Primary School 3.0 standard, including renovating the playground. Following an investigation by Botanee's delegation into the school, the Foundation decided to provide a financial donation to the school to improve its facilities and narrow the gap between urban and rural schools. With the assistance of the Botanee Foundation, a brand-new standardized playground has been successfully completed.

"The ultimate goal of public welfare marks the beginning of hope," said Zhou Wei, director of Botanee Group in her speech at the event. In addition to delivering care by supporting rural education, preserving traditional culture and inheriting the Dongba symbols – a unique set of living hieroglyphs globally – is also a significant aspect of Botanee's commitment to public welfare.

The inauguration ceremony of Botanee Project Hope Primary School and the Botanee Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance Project unfolded concurrently. These celebrations included riveting performances by three groups dedicated to preserving intangible cultural heritage: the Folk Song Chorus, Dongba Dance Troupe, and Dongjing Music Team, hailing from Haidong Complete Primary School, Baisha Complete Primary School, and Lijiang Youth Palace. Meanwhile, a display showcasing the Dongba culture handicrafts made by students in their second classrooms was staged in the school playground. Throughout the campus, traditional culture was imbued with new life and vibrancy. During the event, Botanee Group donated materials, sports supplies, and student sportswear worth RMB 219,700 to teachers and students in Lijiang.

The Botanee Biodiversity Exhibition Hall was built in Lashi Town, a place that is set amidst stunning natural scenery and has fostered a community of remarkable talent. The natural reserve in Lashi Town is rich in biodiversity. The Botanee Biodiversity Exhibition Hall is expected to significantly enhance the visibility of Yunnan's contributions and accomplishments in conserving biodiversity, deepen public consciousness regarding the importance of ecological and environmental protection, amplify biodiversity conservation efforts, and promote the establishment of a co-construction, co-governance, and sharing system in the field of biodiversity. This public welfare initiative represents an important measure to upgrade the Yunnan Project Hope, demonstrating a commitment to various facets of teenagers' development, including education, environmental protection, sports, and mental health.

During a crucial phase of aligning the consolidation of poverty alleviation achievements with the promotion of rural revitalization, Botanee Group donated funds to establish the Botanee Foundation within the Yunnan Youth Development Foundation on April 7, 2021. The Botanee Foundation is the first special non-profit foundation focusing on ecological and environmental protection including "biodiversity protection" by teenagers under the Yunnan Project Hope. The Foundation focuses on the actual public welfare needs of localities in the province by collaborating with the Yunnan Communist Youth League and engaging in the Yunnan Project Hope. It has implemented a wide range of public welfare projects under Project Hope, actively contributing to key strategic efforts including conserving biodiversity, preserving intangible cultural heritage, combating the COVID-19 pandemic, offering financial assistance to students, aiding individuals facing hardships, and boosting development. By the end of 2022, Botanee had continuously invested over RMB 30 million in public welfare undertakings, supporting 19 projects and benefiting over 350,000 individuals. Botanee's commitment to poverty alleviation and rural revitalization has been acknowledged by the China Association for Public Companies, which has included the Group's cases in the Best Practice Cases of Rural Revitalization by Listed Companies.

To convey the correct, scientific concept of sun protection, protect the healthy skin of the Chinese population, cultivate a sense of brand mission, and honor our social responsibility, the 8th edition of the Winona Sunshine Scheme, themed "Winona: A Professional Protector, A Thoughtful Companion", was launched simultaneously in Lijiang, Yunnan on June 2023. The public welfare practice under the Winona Sunshine Scheme this year took place on multiple occasions, marking a departure from previous years when such activities were held only once. This year, the city of Lijiang served as the second stop for this initiative. Two free treatment activities were carried out in Chuxiong in February of this year as a part of the Winona Sunshine Scheme. The volunteer team visited various locals, including Yijiu Village, Waipula Village, and Zhelin Mango Base to impart professional knowledge on sun protection and skin care to local residents. Notably, this year Winona planned to carry out four public welfare practice activities to benefit more individuals.
